As mentioned in Rusty to the Rescue, Douglas and Sam have been told by Edward that The Fat Controller needs another part of the island where only the diesels worked. Later that night, Douglas and Sam went down to the other part of the island to drop off a midnight goods train until they both spotted Oliver and his breakvan, Toad. All they ever wanted was to escape from being scrapped, so, Sam and Douglas decided to help them with their escape plan. Will they bust Oilver and Toad out of the other side of the island before it's too late or will Oliver and Toad will become nothing but scrap?
